Tom Scudamore suffers broken wrist in Worcester fall
After suffering a broken wrist in a fall at Worcester on Tuesday jockey Tom Scudamore is set.
Scudamore was riding the David Pipe-trained Malangen from the opening novices’ handicap chase after his mount suffered a fall in the third fence from the finish – .
Scudamore gingerly walked off in the incident, but his injury has been later affirmed.
Pipe said:”Unfortunately he has broken his wrist and he’s also got some spine pain, so they have kept him in hospital for further checks.
“He is going to be out for some time, of course”
Scudamore’s accident chemicals a few days for the Pond House group, together with Noel’s Boy equally suffering fatal accidents at Newton Abbot on Monday along with Timeforben.
“They say that these things come in threes, so fingers crossed it’s behind us now,” Pipe added.
Another jockey from the wars Tuesday had been Callum Bewley, that had after falling at Kelso from Jackie Stephen’s Welcome Ben to be carried to Borders General Hospital for further assessment.

Bewley’s representative, Richard Hale, explained:”I spoke to his dad last night and it seems as though he has tweaked a couple ribs, but there no damage to any vertebrae or anything similar to this, thankfully.
“He’s clearly a bit tender, but he shouldn’t be away for too long, I wouldn’t have thought – maybe a couple weeks.”
