Leeds United vs Birmingham City: 11 arrested after Elland Road crowd trouble
Police say they made 11 arrests after crowd trouble broke out after Leeds win over Birmingham at Elland Road on Saturday.
Birmingham have confirmed following a section of the traveling support appeared to battle authorities and stewards at full 27, they will investigate incidents of crowd disturbances.
West Yorkshire Police released a statement confirming that problem broke outinside and away from the ground which led to many match stewards suffering slight injuries.
Police enquiries are ongoing this evening following public order incidents at Saturdays football game involving Leeds United and Birmingham City at Elland Road, a police statement said. Leeds District Police are appealing for witnesses following disease incidents inside and away from the ground after the fixture.
They included a public order incident in the Birmingham City fans stand at the end of the game and a subsequent public order incident in the playground outside Elland Road.
Authorities resources were deployed outside the ground between supporters throughout the episode which lasted for about 45 minutes before fans dispersed.
Officers made 11 arrests in complete, largely for public order offences. Minor accidents were reported to a number of game stewards.
Chief Inspector Jon Arrowsuch, Match Commander of this occasion, stated:Our enquires are ongoing in the incidents which took place at this days game.
Authorities tools were deployed out Elland Road and officers made 11 arrests in total for offences both indoors and away from the ground. Certainly these were and we will be examining CCTV footage and working together with both clubs since we explore what took place.

A Birmingham spokesperson told Sky Sports News:The club and its safety team will be investigating what exactly happened in combination with the police and all applicable parties.
As a team we have a zero tolerance policy towards antisocial behavior and any subsequent action taken by us will reflect that.
