Eden Hazard reveals difference between Real Madrid and Chelsea fans
Eden Hazard admits he’s discovered that Real Madrid fans are far more spent than fans at his former club Chelsea.
The Belgium moved to Real for a reported from Chelsea #130m at the summertime following seven years in Stamford Bridge.
“I believe here the fans are really lovers,” said Hazard, before Wednesday’s Champions League group game against Paris Saint-Germain.
“In England there are not so many lovers, people there like football and everybody, young people, adults, teenagers, are very interested in their football, but they aren’t as fanatical in their groups.
“In the time that I was in Chelsea and we dropped, we were disappointed as were the fans, but I felt it was a tragedy.
“When you’re at Real Madrid, even if it’s my first year, speaking about the fans, they always expect you to win the Champions League,” he continued.
“That is why I think there’s so much anticipation placed on this contest and that’s the reason why the club has won it over every other group.”
Hazard patiently waited to get a movement away from Chelsea – that he said it could be time for you to move on after the 2018 World Cup – but that didn’t stop him speaking of his desire while still a Blue, to play for Real.
“When I was at ChelseaI knew that my dream was to play [Real Madrid] someday,” he said.
“I had not expected to play with seven years in Chelsea, but in the long run everything went well and I’d the chance to win something every year. I believe that’s why I stayed there so long.”
