Celtic captain Scott Brown: Social media makes verbal abuse easier
Celtic captain Scott Brown has criticised the rise of media and it has made abusing players easier.
34, Experienced midfielder Brown, feels there is a simple reason behind its expansion in abuse over the course of his career.
He said:”That’s easy, social websites – anybody can write what they need.
“Someone sitting at the house, who has probably never played sport, thinks they will drink a bottle of vodka and then go and write some thing on line. It is easy done.
“You’re always likely to have a bit of stick – to me, it’s about how you bounce backagain. You block out these people, you focus on your soccer, and you go out there and prove everybody wrong.
“Abuse has happened over the previous 12 decades of my profession. It is hard, it is sad and it shouldn’t be occurring.
“People can simply shout and state what they want and think that it’s appropriate, it is always difficult to not react.”
Celtic will look to continue their 100% start in the league and then expand their lead over title rivals when they visit mid-table Hamilton on Saturday Rangers.
