Aaron Rodgers makes seven-figure donation to Cal
Despite playing at the University of California, Berkeley, Aaron Rodgers will leave a lasting legacy.
Rodgers made a contribution to the Cal football program that will be used to reestablish the locker area and make the Aaron Rodgers Football Scholarship, the school announced Tuesday.

“I am pleased and proud to make this gift to encourage Cal football,” Rodgers said. “My years at Cal were one of the very best years of my life. Memories were created by my time in Berkeley. Once I was a Bear, coach Wilcox was about the coaching staff, with Justin pointing how, and I am excited about the leadership of the team. He’s a much better role model for his players and a tremendous football coach. I hope that my participation can help him move forward.”
So it’s prepared for your 2019 season the locker room — renamed the Aaron Rodgers Team Locker Room — will soon be renovated this summer. The pupil will be allowed for junior college transfers moving into Division I, when he moved to Cal from Butte College as Rodgers did.
“Aaron Rodgers is one of the most outstanding players in the history of our football program and among the most recognizable names on earth,” Cal Director of Athletics Jim Knowlton said. “We are tremendously proud of Aaron and thankful that he’s providing this level of support to our soccer program, and we believe it will inspire others, as well. His generosity allows us to greatly enhance our student-athlete experience and supply a scholarship to a deserving junior college transfer.”
Rodgers positions in program history in career passing yards, passing touchdowns and total touchdowns in the top 10. In addition, he led the Golden Bears into a No. 9 national ranking at the end of the final season (2004).
As he’s on it, Rodgers will be remembered only as much.
