Shaun Edwards ready for new challenge as France defence coach

Shaun Edwards hopes to assist France create a killer instinct in games when he takes over as defence trainer month.
Edwards 12-year stint as Wales coach came to an end after the Rugby World Cup and hes busy preparing for his new character.
France were knocked out of the World Cup at the quarter-final point Wales and by Edwards, the Most Recent in a line of defeats against the Six Nations champions.
But, Edwards was impressed by their performances in Japan and will be currently excited about working with all the players as they build in their Six Nations opener.
Talking to Will Greenwoods Podcast, Edwards said:France made a lot of progress at the last World Cup. Fabian went in with other members of staff and, lets be truthful, [Wales] were fortunate to conquer on them.
Unfortunately we didnt see them from England, that might have been a excellent test for these after being severely defeated by England [44-8] in the previous Six Nations.
We had a meeting a few weeks past. My principal message to the coaches is that we need to begin winning these tight matches.
Most games at elite level game are one-score games. Wales lost by three points in the semi-finals of this World Cup.
France need to get the capacity to acquire these one-score games. The last six occasions Wales have performed France it has been one score either way.
After assisting Wales win a Six Nations Grand Slam edwards held talks with France this year.
Wales conceded 65 points and seven tries during the tournament, which was to France who shipped 15 attempts and 118 points.
The French lads play with a great deal of fire but thats insufficient at any level today, explained Edwards.
We must acquire structures in place. I am certain they had structure annually but they appeared to reduce it at times, especially against England.
I can not expect to place all of the detail I had with Wales in right away as that would be overload. However, whats fantastic for me is they have been doing the same thing. He had been honest with me – he said he pretty much copied Wales defence. So it is not new to the players.
Edwards had been linked with a number such as a return to league along with his former team Wigan Warriors, but Frances deal was too good to deny.
France were the only international team who gave me a bonded four-and-a-half-year deal, and so I decided to move there, said Edwards, who has been studying houses in Perpignan where there is already a Wigan contingent – Sam and Joel Tomkins drama for Super League side Catalans Dragons.
There was discussion from other countries but some were just two-year deals. Id consistently signed Student deals with Wales.
Edwards will probably be reunited with Raphael Ibanez, who is the team supervisor of France and played under him, and confessed that his involvement was a factor.
Hes spent the last two weeks viewing French gamers. On paper, he says France can be a game for anyone. The undertaking is currently translating this .
Consistency, and consistency of both tactics and endurance, replied Edwards when asked about the biggest challenge facing France.
They have some big talented athletes who are quite skilful as well. My remit will be to deliver this professionalism and intensity.
Ive been a professional since 1983 and in that period Ive heard an awful lot about the game, things to do and not to do. Hopefully I can contribute.

Liverpool triumphed over Spurs in last year’s all-English closing and wise punters could have endorsed them 12/1 to win at this stage. It is worth it to pick the costs up so read carefully!
Can their Champions League curse break? Could defending champions Liverpool reach their third final in a row? Could Spurs go than 2018? How will Europa League winners Chelsea fare beneath Frank Lampard?
We consider the possibilities the bookies are giving every staff this time around and where punters are putting their money since the draw.
Read on to find out who punters are backing at the main markets ahead of 1. In addition, we break down the chances of every English club at the group stages.
WINNER
Bookies favourites and the most endorsed by punters… Manchester City. Sound familiar? The 7/2 favorites would be the most endorsed with 18% of stakes. Pep is again expected to make it and go all of the way. City crashed out in the quarters last year, will the Premier League champions do better this time?
The Europa League was won by maurizio Sarri together with Chelsea and his team would be. Juventus have accrued 13 percent of bets since the draw, priced exit at 12/1.
Despite winning last year’s competition, a sixth success on the biggest stage, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are favorites at 15/2. 9 percent of bets makes them the third most.
Barcelona embarrassingly let go of a 3-0 advantage against Liverpool in the 2018 semi-final. The pre-tournament marketplace of this year hasn’t been endured in by the Catalan giants, they’re the 11/2 second favourites. However, punters are not so confident, with just 8% of stakes going their way.
TOP GOALSCORER
It could come as a surprise that the most backed since the draw within this industry is a 22/1 shooter… Harry Kane. The Spurs celebrity, who has scored three goals in five Premier League matches so far, has accrued 20% of stakes.
Last year’s top scorer Lionel Messi is a choice as expected. 19 percent of stakes have gone on the 6/1 joint-favourite. Meanwhile, the other 6/1 favourite Cristiano Ronaldo has brought 11 percent. Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah (13/1) is with 7%.
MAN CITY
As mentioned, Manchester City are topping the charts that are pre-tournament with bookies and punters. Their draw may have something to do with it. City face Atalanta, Dinamo Zagreb and Shakhtar Donetsk in Group C. Priced at 1/6 to acquire the group, they’ve accrued 57 percent of bets since the draw, ahead of 100/1 outsiders Dinamo Zagreb with 24 percent.
LIVERPOOL
The defending champions will confront Napoli once more, with RB Salzburg and Genk making up the rest of Group E. Liverpool are all odds-on favourites to win the group at 4/9 and dominate the betting as well with 67 percent.
SPURS
They have all the way into the last year, when priced in 28/1 to win the competition. Tottenham are out from the marketplace now at 33/1. Poch and co. possess a comparatively favourable draw, confronting Bayern Munich, Olympiacos and Crvena Zvezda in Group B. They’re 7/4 second chance to win the group, and trail Bayern with punters too, accruing 36 percent of bets for their 64%.
CHELSEA
After finishing third in the Premier League and winning the Europa League, Chelsea have a shot. New supervisor Frank Lampard faces a tricky task, with last season’s tournament sweethearts Ajax, Lille and Valencia joining Chelsea in Group H. Bookies still make them favourites to win the group at 6/4 and punters fancy them also, with 37% of stakes making them the most backed.

Sheffield United are ‘bullish’ about Arsenal fixture, says Chris Wilder

Chris Wilder states Sheffield United will maintain their”bullish” approach to Premier League matches when they sponsor high-flying Arsenal on Monday.
The Blades have won two points from their opening eight matches in their own return to the English top flight and missed out on a draw against league leaders Liverpool month following the error of goalkeeper Dean Henderson.
Wilder explains the challenge introduced by leading his boyhood club against the top as an”occasion” and insists that his team do not have an inferiority complex – even against a side who sit third and have lost one game less than champions Manchester City.
“We are aggressive and we better our chances,” Wilder said.
“We are bullish because you can clearly envision because that’s the approach we take. We were against Liverpool.
“The audience are absolutely amazing at home and that is not rubbing their heads because they know just how important it is for them to be on front and make it more aggressive and noisy.
“The last supervisor who arrived here [Jurgen Klopp] commented [the atmosphere] too, which had been a real pat on the rear for the way our earth was put up and atmosphere inside ,” he added.
“We’ll need that on Monday night and I am certain that will take place. A night game at Bramall Lane under the lights, live on Sky, something that we are actually looking forward to and getting after the resistance but understanding the caliber they have got.”
Wilder thinks his side’s performances in Bramall Lane have deserved as the club try to keep their Premier League status next year although sheffield United have won six of their points on the road.
“I think we’ve been a defensive-minded team which is extremely encouraging and gives us lots of confidence,” he explained.
“We’ve got after teams, we got after Liverpool in the moment that we could and chose our times and we’re going to get to do exactly the same against Arsenal on Monday.”
Despite Arsenal’s strong start to the league campaign head coach Unai Emery has confronted pressure within his position in certain quarters but Wilder states as a manager you learn to ignore the”sound and nonsense” that comes with the job.
“They’ll know that they have got quality because category and as a manager,” that the Blades manager said.
“We all must put our hands on our ears sometimes and block out all of the sound and put on with all the most important thing which is winning points and adding to that total.”
Wilder has backed after the goalkeeper voiced his view he could become the finest in the world, Manchester United loanee Dean Henderson to create the step.
Henderson imputed Blades goalkeeping coach Darren Ward because of his advancement Wilder is filled with compliments for his goalkeeper and since he joined with the club throughout their advertising period last period.
“I have complete confidence in [Darren]. It’s always my fault when Dean makes an error and when he is brilliant Darren gets the charge – that is how it goes!” Wilder said.
“He is a confident boy, he is a favorite boy. He’s worked really hard to get to this place and he needs more. I really like that attitude and it runs through my squad”

Wayde van Niekerk will not defend world 400m title in Doha

World record holder Wayde van Niekerk has shown that since he’s yet to recover from a knee injury he won’t defend his 400m name at this month’s World Championships at Doha.
The Olympic champion suffered the injury when playing with a charity touch rugby match in October 2017 and has not raced since.
Even the 27-year-old South African returned to coaching however, says he is in no rush.
“I’m still convinced and I’m just taking things day by day, respecting all the calls produced by the physicians and respecting my body,” Van Niekerk said in an statement.
“For me it is just about listening to my own body and taking it from there. My objective is to care for my body and I’ll take it as soon as the chance comes.
“For today I am not hurrying myself or putting stress on myself. I’m really happy and at peace with where I am.”
His doctor Louis Holtzhausen, who has been top the comeback during the previous two years of Van Niekerk, believes it’s going to proceed rapidly in the coming months.
“The health care teams, equally at Bloemfontein and Aspetar (Qatar), did all we could have him ready for the World Championships, but it was just not possible,” Holtzhausen stated.
“But he has successfully returned to monitor all signs are that he’ll recover more rapidly from now on.”
Van Niekerk had expected to run at the African championships in April but hauled out and skipped a return in the London Diamond League after suffering a bruise at the bone into his knee.
Van Niekerk beat on Michael Johnson’s 17-year world record at the 2016 Olympics in the 400m and was set to undertake the 200m and prior to his injury.
He won gold at the World Championships at Beijing in 2015.

NFL Week 3 Last Chance Value Plays

The NFL chances board, at each one of the very best internet sportsbooks, started this game Assessing the Eagles because 9 1/2 point favorites. When the injury bug bit on Philadelphia, but all that changed. DeSean Jackson has a groin injury while wideout Alshon Jeffrey is nursing a calf strain. Eagles running back tight end Dallas Goedert and Corey Clement will not be booted and will also be shrouded.
As a result, the line has plummeted on the home group and we now see some significant value from our NFL picks on Philadelphia. The oddsmakers are providing us a rare opportunity to leap onto a number that has been overcorrected for the gambling public and we are not going to hesitate to place the number. Although the Lions offense will get its hands full throughout the afternoon, we still have Carson Wentz.
Last Chace Value Select: Detroit -4 1/2 (-115) at Bookmaker
Sunday, September 21st, 2019 – 1:00 PM EDT
Last Chace Value Select: Kansas City -5 (-110) in Bookmaker
Everyone is infatuated with Lamar Jackson, ashe has become the flavor of the month for NFL quarterbacks. Jackson is an energetic player that reach a target in movement or will beat feet. But the public is currently doing what they are more likely to do, overhyping that the next huge thing. In this case that big thing occurs to be the Baltimore Ravens young quarterback. Let’s not forget that although the Ravens are undefeated within their first two matches, these opponents have not been exactly Super Bowl contenders. Baltimore managed to squeak from the Cardinals, the team that had the worst record in each of football last season and has wins over the hapless Dolphins.
The kid who will be chuckin’ for the Chiefs is not bad either and he’s got an AFC Championship match under his belt. Pagtrick Mahomes is still the whiz kid that is true here and he has got the wins and the stats to prove it. Playing Arrowhead Stadium isn’t a joke along with the Ravens could be thinking their own press postings at this time. We view some severe value here and we love to where it’s currently stands at -5 as of the early Sunday morning writing, that the line has tumbled out of an opener of KC-8.
Last Chace Value Select: Kansas City -5 (-110) in Bookmaker
