Serge Aurier questions the competition for his place as Tottenham’s right-back
Despite leaving the club in the 23, serge Aurier has questioned the strength of competition for his place.
A movement away did not materialise, although the Ivory Coast defender says that he wanted out of Spurs and was to quite a few clubs including Inter Milan.
Aurier has not played for the club nevertheless this year and founder Mauricio Pochettino has an array of possibilities in that situation when everybody is match – despite selling Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid.
Despite the fact that there is even centre-back Davinson Sanchez Eric Dier, Moussa Sissoko and, more recently Kyle Walker-Peters and youngsters Juan Foyth are viewed as options.
But talking to French-African broadcaster Bal des Productions, Aurier stated:”What competition? There isn’t any.
“I’d just decided to leave [this summer], that was normal for me. Things were taken under account. In the end, I was not able to leave.
“It demonstrates that the club hope me onto plenty of points. We are going to see how the season pans out, but for the time being, I’m here, the transfer window is shut and we need to concentrate on the campaign ahead.”
Return to Crystal Palace on Saturday to Premier League action at home, losing at home to Newcastle, drawing and having won just one of their four games.
