Both Thomson’s (22-8 ) and Chandler (14-3) are both coming off back-to-back wins. There is no word on which sort of injury Thomson had lasted. The 25-year old was hit by a motor vehicle in Delray Beach, Florida on Sunday morning and needed to have the lowest half of the right leg amputated. He is now listed in critical condition at Delray Medical Center based on Blackzillians teammate Rashad Evans.
Bellator released a statement suggesting Delray Beach authorities are seeking info from anyone who may have witnessed the crash. “Bellator has been advised of a dreadful accident that occurred last night between featherweight fighter Jordan Parsons, who had been hit by a vehicle at a shout incident,” the statement read. “We are still in the process of discovering details and together with his family’s consent, hope to get an update on his medical condition shortly. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jordan and his family as he recovers. The hit-and-run occurred on Lindell Blvd. and South Federal Highway in Delray Beach, Florida. Anyone with information regarding this incident is requested to call the Delray Beach Police Department at -LRB-561-RRB-??243-7800.” Parsons (12-2) was scheduled to combat Adam Piccolotti in Bellator 154 in San Jose on May 14. It’s likely Piccolotti will not have a replacement competitor and the bout will probably be scrapped. I interviewed Parsons a week ahead of the Bellator 154 matchup and that he was excited about the move up to lightweight.
